Muscat: Police in Dhofar have cracked a murder case of an Indian in Salalah with the arrest of the wife of the deceased. “The Royal Oman Police’s (ROP) Criminal Investigation Department in Dhofar region have solved the case of murder, which took place last month,” a spokesman for the ROP’s Public Relations Department said in a press release. Muscat: A three-day holiday has been announced in Oman from November 26 to mark the country's 41st National Day, as well as the new Hijri Year. Muscat: About 100 drowning incidents were reported in Oman since January this year, according to statistics released by the Directorate-General of Civil Defence. The police have reported 22 fatalities from these incidents while 100 people were left with injuries, some very serious. Swat, Pakistan: More than 70 per cent of reconstruction work on Shaikh Zayed Bridge on Swat River in Pakistan has been completed, the UAE Project to Assist Pakistan (PAP) has said. PAP said the $10.5 million (Dh38.55 million) project, being executed upon instructions of UAE President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is funded by the Shaikh Khalifa Foundation as part of a package of development projects the PAP is implementing in Pakistan. Six members of Emirati family hurt in car crash
Abu Dhabi: At least six members of an Emirati family and their two domestic helpers were injured on Saturday in a car crash near Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi Police said in a statement. The speeding vehicle flipped over soon after crossing the Shaikh Khalifa bridge while heading back from Abu Dhabi, police officials told Gulf News.
